Keto and Low Carb Midlands: with Dr Cat Harrison

Hear from local GP Cat Harrison about how how her surgery has helped patients control their life using food at the 2nd free Keto and Low Carb Midlands meetup on the 05 July 2017 at the Postmill Centre, South Normanton.

Fresh from an exciting first meeting, where we got the perfect practitioner’s perspective from qualified Nutritional Adviser Antonia Robinson, we follow up with a clinical perspective from an expert in family health and medicine.

In an unprecedented first for the East Midlands, hear Cat give an honest appraisal or the state of nutritional advice within a healthcare setting, covering topics such as:

• What advice she gives pre-diabetes patients regarding sugar consumption

• The conflicts GPs face in helping patients manage safe changes to their diet

• National Government Guidance and how this compares to the clinical guidance she gives out

• Why diet and nutrition is is a contentious subject in healthcare provision

• Her advice on helping people decide which way to eat and live their life

Cat is a GP at a practice in Bassetlaw and has years of clinical experience in functional medicine. She’s a passionate speaker and is going to share the experiences of hundreds of patients that come into her practice each year, explaining how low carb has helped some of them to get great outcomes.

She’ll be joined by another two of our meetup members who’ll be sharing their life stories and low carb journey so far in the Nutrition Narratives section of the evening.

Keto and Low Carb Midlands is a supportive group of people who are all interested in learning more about low carb and keto by listening to each other.

We’ll be sponsoring the evening once again. We’ll be featuring some of the blog favourites – providing a tasty selection of low carb delights for us all to trough in a truly guilt-free fashion.

The Postmill Centre in the village of South Normanton is 5 mins from J28 of the M1 and 5 minutes from the A38.
