Road into the distance

The Road to 30 – The Journey Continues

The following post is a guest post from Jenna Aston (@jenna_bellebob). She’s a wonderful woman and we’ve been working together for a number of months now. She has fully embraced her keto journey so far and is well on her way to a path of positivity. She wanted to write down some of her thoughts in a series of blog posts to document her keto journey. This blog post is an update on her journey so far.

4 months ago I started out on a journey to try and help overcome some inner demons and battles, rebuild a healthy relationship with food, lose some weight and most importantly find myself again and learn to love me for me.

Who knew that could all be achievable with a simple choice and lifestyle change?

It’s been a journey to say the least – and one that I wouldn’t change for anything. Why? Because the benefits I’ve seen so far have been incredible. It’s not just about the weight loss (and believe me – that’s a huge bonus!), it’s about how you start to feel within yourself, the health benefits, the renewed energy and optimism, the strength you feel that encourages you to push new boundaries and achieve more, the confidence it gives you within yourself that allows you to do things you never thought possible. For me, it’s been about experiencing a new lease of life that you’d kind of given up hope of ever finding again, because you were “comfortable with life”.

Don’t get me wrong – my life before going Keto was great, but my lifestyle choices were horrific. And that was impacting how I felt within myself. Things needed to change and boy am I glad they did. If not for all the reasons I said above (and I’m sure there’s still loads I’m yet to unravel), but because I’m happier, even more content and as a result the relationships in my life are even better because I’m not hiding behind a closed door anymore.

The results that everyone wants to see

Like I said earlier, my Keto journey began 4 months ago, with a really clear goal in mind to achieve by my 30th birthday in April.

So, for all of you out there who want me to get down to the nitty gritty (aka – the weight loss) here are my results so far…

My starting measurements

Weight: 10 stone 7 lbs

Hips: 35 inches

Waist: 27 (almost 28) inches

Bust: 34 inches

Arms: 11 inches

Legs: 22 inches (at thickest point of thighs)

The goal

To lose 2 ½ to 3 stone, and 6-7 inches off my hips, plus a couple of inches of my arms and

legs and tone them up.

Results 4 months on

Weight: 9 stone 1lbs (at last weigh in 4 weeks ago)

Hips: 30 inches

Waist: 25 inches

Bust: 30.5 inches

Arms: 10 inches

Legs: 20.5 inches

To say I’m overwhelmed with the results is a complete understatement. I’m so proud of what I’ve achieved so far and there’s still 10 weeks to go until the big 3-0!

I’ve lost almost a stone and a half, and in total 13 inches so far and I’m determined to keep on going to reach my end goal.

The weight may have reached a bit of a plateau at the minute but my measurements are still going down and that’s the most incredible feeling because I know I’m doing something right and getting the results I want. It’s very difficult sometimes to get caught up on how heavy you are and the numbers you see on the scales – and I’m the worst person ever for that! I see the same number week on week and it can be disheartening, but then you put on that pair of jeans that were once so tight you thought you were going to cut off your blood circulation, or that top that used to cling in all the wrong places – and they practically fall off you and it’s like “wow – what was I even worried about!”.

I have a pair of joggers (they are the funniest!) and a pair of jeans that I now have to tuck layers of t-shirts into just to keep them up! I swear I could probably fit 2 of me into my joggers now! And if I have bit of a Debbie Downer moment where I doubt myself – I pop these on and realise that I’ve actually done so well.

The results you want are achievable – you just have to believe you can do it and you’re halfway there.

I’ve never enjoyed a lifestyle change quite so much as I have the Keto one and it’s a lifestyle that’s so easy to adapt to. I’m even at a point where I’m recreating recipes that I like the look of to make them Keto friendly (FYI – if you ever crave something sweet, nutty and chocolatey – check out my Keto Nutella recipe – it’s incredible even if I do say so myself!!).

Being Keto doesn’t mean missing out – it means being savvy with your choices and making the right ones with zero guilt!

The Keto Pro has been, and continues to be a rock and the foundation for my success. The results I’m starting to see are nothing short of a credit to all the hard work and dedication that goes into putting all this together in terms of meal plans, workouts and the weekly calls. There’s a passion that rubs off from the Keto Pro that makes you want to better yourself and do the right things for the right reason.

For anybody who’s sat there reading this and thinking, “You know what, yeah I want to change my habits, or shift a few pounds, or feel better about myself” – then my advice would be to just do it. Try the Keto lifestyle with the Keto Pro. You don’t know what you can achieve if you don’t try it – and the proof, as they say, is in the Keto pudding.
